Founder of It's Just Six Letter Word
I'd never met anyone or knew anyone that had cancer or had been affected by cancer until my partner was diagnosed in March 2009. I didn't know how it could turn your life upside down; or what an impact it could have. I then found macmillan on line forum and found some amazing, caring, thoughtful people who were happy to share experiences, offer support and make the whole experience more bearable. I also found a true friend in a guy called Pat who had this mad crazy idea one night (after a few beers!) to raise money for Macmillan - the charity that had brought us all together and that already has helped us all so much! Since that day - the crazy calendar fundraising idea day - my life has not been the same. The calendar provided a focus, a passion and above all, a determination. Determination to raise money, help others and remember... Its Just A Six Letter Word! Here's to many more mad crazy ideas!!

Founder of It's Just Six Letter Word
My name is Pat and I'm a carer for my wife Michelle who was diagnosed with cancer in May 2009.
From the initial shock and right up to today we have always found support in our chosen charity Macmillan.
We met some life long friends from a Macmillan based website and joined forces to produce a 2010 charity calendar, which was a great success.
We're still on our roller coaster journey and take one day at a time, we enjoy life and won't let anything get in our
way because at the end of the day "It's Just A Six Letter Word"
We're now on to a new stage of fundraising and awareness to change people's views of cancer, and we're both
very excited about the future of our wonderful group.

Designer
After having a family member diagnosed with cancer and a member of my family being part of It's Just A Six Letter Word, I decided that I would try and help out with the calender wherever I could. I soon found myself making their website for them and helping out in any way possible. I have now designed the old website and now this new one, I have also designed the new forum. I have found the people working on It's Just A Six Letter Word very friendly and think that the cause for which we aim to raise money for is a worthy cause which helps so many people.

After losing three people to cancer in 2009 and than seeing Ben getting involved in It's Just A Six Letter Word I soon became very intrested in helping the cause. Knowing that every little thing I do for It's Just A Six Letter Word I realise I could be helping someone who was in my position last year. Everyone that has been a part of the team has been wonderful and they are all so friendly! I would also like to say a huge thank you to all the people that has helped us get to the level we are at now :)
